Sportswoman of the Year 2019 – Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce

The mercurial and everlasting Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had a brilliant 2019. She first earned a bronze medal with the 4X200 metres relay team at the World Relays in Japan before finishing second to Elaine Thompson-Herah in the 100 metres in a virtual dead heat (a then world leading time of 10.73 seconds) at the Jamaica National Championships, one of the only three losses she had in the year over that distance.

She also took the silver at the Diamond League finals and the gold medal in the 200 metres at the Pan American Games. She crowned her year in Doha at the World Athletics where she won the 100 metres in a world leading 10.71 seconds and led the sprint relay team to gold in 41.44 seconds.
